Rate

35 parts per minute

Situation

Plastic scoops are used across a wide range of industries to portion powders, liquids, and granulated materials. In this application, the customer needed a reliable way to orient and feed scoops into the packaging process. The system had to handle bulk product efficiently, orient the scoops consistently, and support potential changeovers for different scoop sizes.

Results

The vibratory feeder system includes a storage hopper that supplies scoops in bulk to a vibratory feeder bowl. The scoops are singulated and oriented with the opening facing outward and the handle side down before being discharged via an inline track. Operating at 35 parts per minute, the system delivers consistent and reliable part orientation. With flexibility to run different scoop sizes in the same bowl and output rates typically ranging from 20 to 60 PPM, this solution offers a simple and scalable approach to automating scoop packaging.
