A manufacturer of safety reflectors needed a system that could handle four different types of reflector sticks with varying sizes and colors. The application required consistent orientation, color handling, and efficient part separation across multiple product types—all within a single automation solution.
We designed a custom 4-lane elevating conveyor system using Z-frame conveyors to singulate parts and feed them into chutes. Once transferred, sensors evaluate the orientation of each reflector, rejecting any with the reflective side facing down. Correctly oriented reflectors are funneled into a confinement area and discharged across four separate lanes at 30 parts per minute. The system supports high accuracy and throughput while accommodating multiple product variations in one compact and coordinated solution.
