Hoosier Feeder in the Community: Improving Access at a Local Landmark

July 29, 2025

At Hoosier Feeder, we’re committed to supporting the areas where we live and work.

We recently had the opportunity to support the Knightstown Academy, a well-known landmark in our town. Originally built in 1876 as a Quaker school, the Academy features Second Empire architecture, including twin four-story towers, a mansard roof, and historic charm.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, the building now serves as housing for residents aged 55 and older and continues to be a valued gathering place for the local community.

Our team donated time and resources to help improve the building’s exterior, installing a new handicap-accessible ramp and painting the handrails to create a safer, more welcoming entrance.

We’re proud to help preserve a space that holds such a meaningful place in Knightstown’s history and continues to serve the community today.
