Case Study
A manufacturer of wood shims needed a faster, more consistent way to stack and count parts before wrapping and packaging. The stakes arrived in bulk and randomly oriented, requiring a system that could handle various input positions and still deliver uniform stacks without slowing down production.
We designed a heavy-duty orienting conveyor system paired with a hopper elevator to feed wood shims flat, with their longest side parallel to the direction of travel. At 120 parts per minute, the system directs the parts to an output conveyor equipped with a vertical stacking mechanism. This automated solution eliminated manual handling, increased throughput, and created consistent stacks ready for packaging, greatly improving line efficiency.
